Power tail

Godzilla’s long tail is also a formidable weapon. It has been shown to be very flexible and powerful, able to lash out quickly and topple over buildings and enemy monsters. From time to time Godzilla also used his tail for jumping. In Godzilla vs. Megalon, he was able to slide on his tail a great distance to deliver a devastating kick, and in Godzilla vs. Megaguirus it was revealed to be prehensile as well.

In Godzilla vs. Kong, Godzilla is able to wrap his tail around Kong before dragging him into the depths of the ocean to drown him. Godzilla’s tail is even muscular enough that Kong could not escape while coiled in it and only got free when Godzilla was distracted by depth charges, allowing Kong to swim back to the surface while Godzilla’s grip was released. His tail was also powerful enough to destroy three warships escorting Kong with ease.

His arms are effective for punching, and hurling his enemies away. In all his incarnations he has been shown to have powerful jaws and sharp teeth and claws, although these are more prominent in some incarnations than in others. As any predator, Godzilla will eventually sink his teeth into his opponent to chop them away.

Godzilla also showed the ability to use his dorsal fins as a weapon in Godzilla vs. Megaguirus, when he uses their jagged tips to slice off Megaguirus’ claw and in Godzilla vs. Hedorah where he used them to cut into Hedorah in mid-flight. In Godzilla 2000 and Godzilla vs Megaguirus his dorsal fins creates tremendous heat while his atomic breath is being prepared.

However, many of the films show Godzilla preferring to battle his opponents from a distance, particularly in the Heisei series; either by using his atomic breath, or by hurling objects such as boulders.
